I am awake now. Let’s finish updating life. I sold my 1985 Honda Shadow 500 to Darren Monroe, a guy I used to grade calculus with, for ~$380 more than I paid for it less than two years ago. I can confidently say that I know how to paint body panels, as these turned out pretty good in black. I still need to get him those extra panels that weren’t attached when he took delivery.
The 1997 Honda Civic DX has an agreed-upon price of ~$150 more than I put into it, and that should be moved within the week. Erica continues to be a thorn in my side in that she is a great deterrent for leaving the country. Despite the inherent push/pull I get from her from time to time (sometimes it seems that she really wants to hang out/is attracted to me, and then mere moments later I get blatant hints of rejection), she really fits the bill of someone I would like to be with for a long time. She’s exploratory and curious, sharp, very detail oriented, practical, fun, open-minded, and despite being skeptical of people on a personal level (I get the vibe that she has issues committing and trusting, especially to males, but that’s also based partly on information I know), I really would like to put the time and effort into getting to know her beyond that personal wall.
In other news, I might be “upgrading” jobs as soon as I land in Japan, though don’t tell my prospective employer that. It might be 1st shift, with older kids, and possibly more pay. It’s a job very close to what Mark (my brother) has. Later today, I’ll be making a decision on whether to stay in Carrollton, GA for a few more days and reschedule my passport renewal appointment, or leave tomorrow morning. If I stay, I have some things on the farm here to repair/fix/paint (which will compensate my expenses for staying), but otherwise I don’t have much to do. I really don’t have much to do at home, either, save pack my stuff and hang out with Erica. I can study Japanese at either location.
Well, it’s time to make a potato gun.
