You are a tool.

I'm in possession and mostly in control of one of many of the most powerful tools ever to exist. It's the same tool (different model) that was used to bring down the Berlin wall, develop complex math (as in sqrt(-1)), and develop the bombs that were dropped on Japan. It's been used to create intricate word play and international peace treaties, but staring out the window, this fact felt like fiction.

"Every man dies; not every man lives."

My reflection returned the gesture of my blank stare. Why don't people use the tools at their disposal? For starters, it's not comfortable. It's not easy. And really, why bother with giving 100% when complacency at 40% gives enough satisfaction to keep the soul meagerly afloat?

"All we ever do is talk. We like to ride, but we never walk. We make it so damn easy we get bored."

You pass so many people when riding a train. Each of them, in varying capacities, can do so much, and yet upon the seats once comfortable enough for kings do we ride blindly into the night, the burden of thinking lifted for a mere 450 ¥. A man with a cello case boards, and for a moment I felt embarrassed to think what I had.

I hate blogger because I've already written this once, and it happily "forgot".

QotD: pick one of the above.

HotD:
Q) What do you call a sheep with no legs?
A) A cloud.

  1. Very deep, but true. We have become a very lazy society! I often think of this when I came home from work & then come into my house - very little outside activity. I need to change that - because back in the day I was always outside. I am ready for that change!
